Miles for MattMatt’s story is one that should never happen. July 20, 2009, was one of the few sunny days of the summer of 2009. Matt was working in Manhattan that summer-his first job. He took the LIRR home and headed out to the Wantagh State Bike Path in Nassau County for a bike ride. A man, who was driving under the influence and at an excessive rate of speed, drove his motorcycle off the parkway and directly into Matt. Help was on its way immediately and he was airlifted to NUMC, however, none of the skilled medical personnel could save our son, a 19 year old, vibrant and active college student. Matt’s journey is one many walk. In honor of the outstanding way he conducted his life, we continue the journey. |
