Hance Foundation Hance Family Foundation:
The Hance Family Foundation has been founded to honor the memories of Emma, Alyson and Kate Hance, who died in a tragic car accident on July 26, 2009 at ages 8, 7 and 5.The funds raised for this Foundation will be used to support children’s endeavors, with an initial emphasis on serving the children of the Village of Floral Park. The intention of the Foundation is to honor the memories of these extraordinary girls by helping as many children as possible, in as many ways as possible.Website | Donate | Register

canoe Canoe 4 Kids:
On Saturday, August 14th 2010, the Massapequa Fire Department will be hosting the 16th Annual Emergency Services Canoe Challenge. The race consists of a two mile course to the Great South Bay, beginning and ending in John Burns Park in Massapequa. If you have the courage to compete, if you have the desire to dig deep, if you can paddle through the pain with some of the bravest, boldest, finest and fiercest, you will receive a complementary race day tee shirt and free refreshments after the race – and have a great time doing it!Website | Donate | Register
daly John Daly Open Water Swim:
John Daly, City of Long Beach Policeman, Firefighter, Lifeguard, Naval Reservist and AOH member passed away in April of 2007. John was an avid swimmer and competed in many swimming events in his lifetime, including the Police Olympics.  We are continuing  his memory thru the annual John Daly, Ocean Mile Swim, set up in honor of  John and have established a scholarship in John’s memory.Each year scholarships are awarded to graduation seniors who are members of the Long Beach Patrol lifeguards and who emulate the patrol in the area of professionalism, service, and ethics. The candidates must write an essay and be in need of financial assistanceIt is awarded after the swim. This past year we were able to also sponsor several “Tiger Sharks” local Long Beach Recreation Swim team members  and also provide swim lessons for children.Website | Donate | Register

comsequoge Warrior 5K:
The Physical Education and Health departments continue to strive towards having all students establish life-long fitness skills that will become part of their lives forever. At the elementary level we have incorporated a walking/running unit into our curriculum and hope that all of our schools and the Comsewogue community will be participating in our annual 5K Warrior Music/Athletic Scholarship Race and Fun Run that is open to all. is a not for profit entity that has been established to raise funds by way of fundraising and other donations to assist in completing our mission. Elwood Elwood Education Endowment:
The Elwood Education Endowment is dedicated to enriching the educational opportunities of students attending the Elwood School District. It is the goal of the EEE to provide learning opportunities, beyond the core curriculum, by financing programs that are NOT covered by the Elwood School District budget. A private, not-for-profit corporation, the EEE solicits the support of local businesses, community members and alumni to help finance a broad range of programs that would be available to students of all academic abilities. bula BULA:
BULA is an organization founded by a local Blue Point resident to support children and education in Uganda. Currently, the organization is raising funds to build a second school for a community whose children attend school in a rundown scrap wood building. One of our biggest annual events is held at the Blue Point Brewery: From Blue Point to BULA 5K Run. This year it is Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:30 am. The Long Island 2 Day Walk is organized to raise awareness and funding for the fight against breast cancer on Long Island. 100% of the donations raised by the participants are distributed to grassroots service organizations so the funds reach the members of the Long Island community affected by breast cancer.What’s Raised Here Stays HereLI2DAY has raised nearly $4 MILLION from the annual 35-mile, two day walk. Local grassroots breast cancer organizations from Manhasset to Montauk receive funding from LI2DAY for programs that assist with medical expenses, transportation, prosthetics and wigs, physical therapy, child care, research, education and more.
